Lou Martin is a contemporary Aboriginal artist (Wiradjuri) who lives on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast (Gubbi Gubbi country). Although Lou has been painting throughout her life, she only recently began sharing her work.

Lou feels a deep connection to the land as reflected in her pieces. Her coastal and hinterland surroundings, the people who reside there, family and community, are the inspiration for her work. Painting and creativity run through Lou's family as her work connects her to generations past. Lou has a contemporary approach to traditional dot painting and a passion for colour to bring her stories to life.

How did Journey of Something start, you ask? Founders Nicola and Lauren both love doing jigsaw puzzles but we were sick of all puzzles being super daggy - horse grazing in a country field landscape kinda thing. They are also quite (well, extremely!!) keen on art and design - so they thought, why not combine these passions!? And hence, the cool puzzle was born. After starting with just three puzzle designs, their range has expanded to games, art kits, stationery and more. What started as a side hustle is now a full time business with actual staff and a warehouse - oh my! Hey, the world wants cool, screen-free activities and Journey of Something are here to oblige! They love to partner with artists from Australia and the world as they continue to bring you well designed, mindful products that let you create your own art or simply enjoy family game time.
