NEXT GEN 2026 CATALOGUE

Next Gen 2025 showcases some of the best of the work created by students from Government, Catholic and Independent schools from Ballarat, and the Western Victoria region. Students who have completed 2025 VCE studies in: Art Creative Practice, Art Making and Exhibiting, Media, Visual Communication Design, Product Design and Technology, and students who have created design or art projects as part of the VCE Vocational Major (formerly VCAL) are eligible to apply. 

The Art Gallery of Ballarat has been exhibiting some of the best work produced by students from across western Victoria for over 20 years.  Next Gen continues to be an important part of the Gallery’s exhibition program. It provides valuation professional training to its participants, acts as an inspiring introduction to the art world for current students and gives Gallery visitors insights into the world of young people today.
